SukimatchHow to play & tips
Something flashes past the gap in the sliding doors of a Japanese room. Name what it was from four choices in this observation game with a corgi.
What kind of game is it?
In the middle of the screen are sliding doors, open just a crack. Animals, fruits, musical instruments and more flash past the gap for an instant. Choose what passed from four names of the same kind. There are 144 hand-drawn-style illustrations: 18 categories with 8 each.
How to play
Once something passes the gap, four names appear. Tap the one you think is right. You have 5 seconds to answer.
Each run has 10 questions and 3 lives. A wrong answer or running out of time costs a life, and you retry the same question number with a different object. Answer all 10 with lives left to clear the run.
How scoring works
Each correct answer is worth 1,000 points. Faster answers earn more, up to 1,300 points within 0.75 seconds. Wrong answers and timeouts score 0. Your personal best is saved only on the device you play on.
Difficulty and practice mode
There are four difficulties: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Oni mode. Only Beginner is open at first; clearing a run with word choices unlocks the next one. The gap gets narrower as the questions go on, and higher difficulties start narrower.
Choose “Pictures (practice)” to answer with four pictures instead of names. Clearing practice mode does not count toward unlocking difficulties.
Tips to improve
- Keep your eyes on the center of the gap and catch the overall shape and color.
- All four choices are the same kind, so look for the feature that sets it apart.
- When your lives run low, choose accuracy over speed.
Notes from the creator
I wanted to capture that little thrill of squinting and wondering, “Did something just go by?” Enjoy a relaxed test of your eyes in a Japanese room with a corgi. The game supports 9 languages: Japanese, English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Korean, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese.
