GUIDE
Typhoon, Go Away! How to play & tips
Swipe with your finger to push back typhoons heading toward Japan. Each stage lasts 30 seconds. Keep every storm from making landfall to clear it.
What kind of game is it?
The screen shows Japan and typhoons heading toward it. Swipe the typhoons back out to sea and protect Japan for 30 seconds. The storms have fictional names: this is a work of fiction, unrelated to real typhoons or actual weather information.
How to play
Place your finger near the typhoon you want to push, then swipe in the direction you want it to go. Each swipe pushes once, when you lift your finger, so keep swiping to send the storm farther away. If several storms overlap, swipe from near each one separately to aim more easily.
If a typhoon touches Japan’s coast, the game ends. Protect it for 30 seconds to clear the stage. Move on to the next stage and the typhoons get faster, making the challenge harder.
Obstacles and special moves
More typhoons join as you play. Even on Stage 1, Typhoon No.2 arrives after nine seconds. New storms are announced two seconds before they appear, so watch where they will enter.
Obstructing clouds appear after a while. They block swipes that cross them and attempts to control storms hidden behind them. Try pushing the storms outside the clouds first.
After 11 successful pushes, you can use PRESSURE BURST. It pushes storms a long way back, briefly stops their approach, and clears the obstructing clouds. Pick up a croquette when one appears to get one use of the stronger SUPER PRESSURE BURST.
Tips
- Push again within 1.2 seconds to build a combo. Every ten combos triggers FEVER, which doubles your points. Keep a steady rhythm.
- PRESSURE BURST is handy when too many storms arrive to handle, or during the final seven-second rush. Consider saving it for those moments.
- When there are more typhoons, it is safest to push them back in order, starting with the one closest to Japan.
A note from the creator
I turned that familiar yearly wish—“Typhoon, please don’t come this way!”—into a game. Clearing more stages gives you more choices in Strength. The game is available in nine languages: Japanese, English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese.
